Brent Burger serves as Chief Operating Officer at Cinterra, bringing more than 30 years of operational and executive experience across energy, utilities, and infrastructure. Reporting directly to CEO Shelby Barbier, Brent is responsible for the strategic execution of Cinterra’s nationwide operations—including field performance, project delivery, and scaling of infrastructure to meet the growing demands of the renewable energy and utility sectors. His leadership ensures that safety, quality, and operational excellence are deeply embedded in every project.
Prior to joining Cinterra, Brent held senior leadership roles at industry-leading firms, including Black & Veatch, where he oversaw the execution of multi-million-dollar energy and infrastructure projects across water, oil & gas, fossil, solar, wind, and battery storage sectors. His career has been defined by building strong field operations, leading large teams with precision, and delivering results in dynamic, high-growth environments. Brent’s deep knowledge of field operations, commercial strategy, and cross-functional execution is critical to Cinterra’s ability to scale with discipline and integrity.
Brent lives in the Kansas City area with his spouse and is proud to have raised three adult sons who also live nearby. Over the years, he has served in advisory roles for the University of Nebraska and the nonprofit Christmas in October, reflecting his commitment to both education and community service. In his downtime, Brent enjoys boating, traveling, catching live concerts, and watching any sport. He’s passionate about workforce development and finds deep fulfillment in mentoring the next generation of energy leaders.
